Threading the weather needle...

Unless you're a hardcore storm watcher, getting married in Tofino in February is a craps shoot at best: There's a teensy-weensy chance  that you're going to get to say your vows on the beach but more than likely you'll end up pensively staring out the window being amazed at how raindrops the size of your fist are able to fly horizontally with such speed.

Kim and Pete took the chance and to say that they won big is an understatement of ridiculous proportions. Note not only the cloudless sky but the total lack of goosebumps on Kim's shoulders.

Of course it was the people who made this wedding special; the atmosphere was relaxed, everyone was gracious and open, and there was a warmth to the proceedings that was both genuine and moving. It was one of those lovely events that would have been joyful even if there had been a sleet storm pounding down outside.

That said, having a summer day show up in the middle of winter was sure a nice touch.
